Day 1 – Geikie Gorge & Fitzroy Crossing

Start your adventure heading east to the Fitzroy Crossing. Take time to explore the Old Fitzroy Crossing and meet a local National Park ranger for a cruise through the stunning Geikie Gorge. Learn about geology and the uniqueness of the area and enjoy some great wildlife spotting including crocodiles, birds and fish. Spend the evening camping near the bank of the Fitzroy River and experience a true Kimberley barbeque dinner. (L,D)

Overnight: Fitzroy River Lodge – dome tents (single/twin share), swags with fitted sheets and pillow with pillow cases

Day 2 – China Wall & Purnululu National Park

As you make your way to Purnululu National Park, stop by the town of Halls Creek, symbol of the gold rush era. Featuring the breathtaking Bungle Bungles, Purnululu National Park will be your next safari base camp. In the evening, enjoy a magnificent bush sunset moment along with a delicious dinner under the evening stars. (B,L,D)

Day 3 – Bungle Bungles

Today is your chance to experience the wonders of Purnululu National Park: The stunning Bungle Bungle domes were created more than 20 million years ago by rivers. These incredible geological formations were only revealed to the rest of the world by locals in the 80s, and made national park in 1987. Walk along the Echidna Chasm and into the breathtaking Cathedral Gorge. You will have the option to experience a scenic flight over the Bungle Bungles ‘beehive’ domes for some magnificent vistas. Day 4 – Mimbi Caves

As you leave Purnululu National Park, you will head for the ancient realm of Mimbi Caves located in the Gooniyandi Country. Filled by spiritual meaning, the limestone caves are the largest in Western Australia and the oldest site ever discovered by non natives in Australia. Your local Gooniyandi guide will take you to Dreamtime and tell you the secrets and legends of the area, as well as walks by crystal clear pools, unique fossils and ancient rock paintings. Meet the Gooniyandi traditional owners and share billy tea with them before returning to the Fitzroy Crossing for the night. (B,L)

Day 5 – Windjana Gorge & Tunnel Creek

The Bunuba country will be our destination today: this over 350-million year old terrain was once a Devonian reef and features some various pants and wildlife. Venture out to 750-meter cave Tunnel Creek and find out about the Jandamarra legend, an Aboriginal man who fought for freedom and retreated into the tunnel in the late 19th century. Enjoy a refreshing swim in waterholes, before we head to the Windjana Gorge where we’ll take time for a picnic lunch and observe some local wildlife. We continue onto the Gibb River road towards the spectacular Napier Ranges and stop by the Derby Boab Prison Tree, before heading back to Broome. (B,L)
