Heidi was fortunate enough to start her travelling adventures from a young age, with her father working in the travel industry (as well as many school holidays “working” in his office). Her first independent trip was to Japan for 3 months as a teenager, and since then has spent much of her time travelling or planning her next adventure.
Her first professional role in tourism was a specialist in car rental and leasing, working a variety of roles from reservations to a pricing analyst. She then worked as a Product Coordinator specialising in North America, Africa and the Middle East, before landing the role of North America Product Manager, which she did across two global businesses. In addition to North America, she was heavily involved in worldwide small ship cruising. She has a love for adventure travel, not just her own experiences, but opening up new destinations and opportunities for others.
She got her first job in travel at a crucial and difficult time for the industry, July 2001. Though an uncertain time for travel, she was lucky enough to be a part of a small company who valued their people above all else. After working for larger businesses, she’s happy to come full circle and be working again at a company who views their people as their best asset. She’s excited to be a part of Aurora’s bright future.
In her spare time, Heidi can be found volunteering for the Rural Fire Service, rehearsing for amateur theatre shows or enjoying time with her young family.
