Heather Chrystie

A wise teacher once told Heather that she should study the subject she enjoyed most, which inspired her complete a Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography. This led to a rewarding career in natural history that has taken her all over the globe. After spending 10 years guiding polar bear trips in Canada and five years in Iceland leading expeditions, she now feels completely at home in the Arctic and considers herself a “polar bear nerd”. She has also guided in the Canadian Rockies, the Swiss Alps and the UK, ran an organic vegetable farm, taught English and worked as an Environmental Consultant. Onboard, she draws on her extensive and diverse experience to inspire and engage expeditioners. When she’s not working on expedition cruise ships, she enjoys skiing, and has joined month-long skiing expeditions in both the Himalayas and Iceland.
