David has rarely spent time outside the Arctic and Antarctic regions in the last decade. His passion for remote wilderness and adventure runs deep. He has spent several winters driving snowmobiles and guiding for Sweden’s Ice Hotel with dipping temperatures of -40 degrees Celsius. He has led expeditions across the Arctic, Svalbard, Greenland, Iceland, down the Faroe Islands and Scotland as well as the Antarctic and subantarctic. In 2016 he completed an unsupported 600km, 27-day crossing of Greenland’s inland ice, following in the footsteps of one of his heroes Fridtjof Nansen. Not only has he become a certified Senior Polar Guide but has now begun his captain studies and training. He has university degrees in earth sciences and glaciology and loves sharing his experience and knowledge as a lecturer and leader.
