Growing up in South Devon, Darren has been a keen underwater adventurer from a young age. He has dived professionally for 30 years, building Arctic and cold-water experience as a member of the commando diving team in the military. He’s travelled the world diving commercially and recreationally, but is most proud of a South African expedition with his son, where they became the first people to run across Africa following elephant migration routes – covering 3,000kms in nearly 3 months! During the summer, Darren currently teaches scientific divers at the University of Plymouth. He never tires of the beauty, peace and tranquillity of the marine environment and enjoys facilitating others to do the same.
