Is your passport valid?
Your passport will be required to have validity that will extend to six months after the date of your return. Ensure you have at least two blank pages for exit and entry stamps. Damaged documents may be refused.
Chile Visa Requirements
Travellers are required to show their passport on entry into Chile. Some nationalities do not require a visa to enter into Chile, however, some are required to pay a reciprocity tax in cash when clearing customs in Chile.
Travellers that DO NOT require visas: Citizens of South America, the European Union, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand
Travellers that ARE REQUIRED to pay a one-off reciprocity tax: Australians (US$117), Canadians (US$132). *Prices are subject to change.
Citizens of the US, UK, European Union and New Zealand are not required to pay a reciprocity tax.
Reciprocity fee is paid upon arrival to Santiago airport at dedicated Immigration Boxes
This is a multi-entry fee, meaning you can travel between Chile and other countries for the duration of your fee’s validity. The expiry date is one year after purchase.

Argentina Visa Requirements
Travellers are required to show their passport on entry into Argentina.
PLEASE NOTE – As of 1st July 2017, the Reciprocity Fee for Australians entering Argentina is no longer required. Canadian citizens are still required to pay the one-off fee ($75). *Prices subject to change, all travellers should check with their local embassy before travelling.
Citizens of Australia, the UK, European Union, New Zealand and the United States are not required to pay the reciprocity tax
For Canadian passengers travelling to Argentina, you are required to pay a Reciprocity Fee prior to your arrival into Argentina via an online system HERE.
How to pay the Reciprocity Fee online:
- Visit http://reciprocidad.provincianet.com.ar and under ‘Log In’, click ‘Sign Up’. You will need to register your passport details to start the process.
- To complete the Reciprocity Fee, click ‘Add Form’ and complete the corresponding personal and credit card information.
- Print the payment receipt.
- On arrival in Argentina (at any border crossing point into Argentina), this printed receipt must be presented at Immigration Control. The receipt will be scanned by the Immigration officials, the information will be checked, and your entry to the country registered.
If travellers lose their ID sticker number or forget to pre-purchase the reciprocity fee, Immigration is able to assist however this can be a long process and risks delaying any travel plans.

All passengers are required to provide travel insurance details including policy number and emergency contact number to Aurora Expeditions prior to departure. We strongly recommend insurance coverage that includes emergency medical evacuation from remote areas.
