Info nights:
Trekking in the Everest Region
With Tashi Tenzing

Tashi Tenzing has climbed Everest three times and is the grandson of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, who completed the first ascent of Mt Everest with Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953. Tashi will present illustrated talks in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, discussing the treks, and covering the highlights and attractions of each destination as well as share his insights into Sherpa culture, and the incredible history of the Tenzing family.

After the sell-out success of our new land-based expeditions to Nepal in 2013, there has been four Nepal treks announced departing in 2014. Each trek will be led by Tashi

The ‘Classic Everest Trek’ has been a migration route of Sherpa’s for over a thousand years, and covers spectacular highlights of the Everest region.

A further two treks to Bhutan have also been added to the program and will follow one of Bhutan’s oldest trails - the ‘Druk Path’. From Paro to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital, we trek through virgin forest, along ridges and visit beautiful mountain lakes and isolated settlements. A visit to the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery, an ancient sacred Himalayan Buddhist site and temple, offers an enlightening experience. Post trek, we travel to the lush Punakha valley, site of the celebrated Buddhist fortress of Punakha Dzong.

Each event will also start with a short presentation on Aurora Expeditions other exciting destinations.
