Stories from Everest!
Aurora Expeditions, are inviting budding adventures to hear from three-time Everest summiteer and climbing legend, Tashi Tenzing. ‘Stories from Everest: An Evening with Tashi Tenzing’ will focus on Tenzing’s personal stories of his world-famous grandfather and his Sherpa ancestry, as well as his own feats of climbing Everest.
As the grandson of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, who completed the first ascent of Mt Everest with Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953, climbing is in Tashi’s blood. He first summited Everest in 1997 after a failed attempt four years earlier that tragically ended in the death of his uncle and climbing partner. Tashi again reached Everest’s peak in 2002 and 2007, and over the years has climbed many of the world’s highest peaks and lead a number of expedition firsts.
From epic summits to fallen heroes, Tashi Tenzing has a rucksack full of stories. Be inspired as Tashi shares his grandfather’s inspiring story, and unravels the truth about why so many attempt to climb the world’s highest mountain. Tashi will also provide an overview of his specially designed Himalayan trekking itineraries and will be available for one-on-one trekking advice.
Also on offer are some great attendee-only discounts, exciting lucky door prizes, and some tasty Nepalese nibbles.
