Argentina’s reciprocity fee goes online

The National Immigration Agency of Argentina has annouced that starting this October all Reciprocity Fees for Australian, US and Canadan citizens will be required to be paid online, before arriving in Argentina.

Until now, this fee was paid upon arrival at the airport (either Aeroparque or Ezeiza). Effective October 31, 2012 for arrivals to Aeroparque and effective December 28, 2012 for arrivals to Ezeiza International airport, all tourist or business visitors must pay the reciprocity rates with their credit card through the online system.
After these dates, cash payments will no longer be accepted at the airports.

The rates are as follows for tourist single entry into Argentina: US$160 for Americans; Australia US$100; Canada US$75.
