Extensions - Norway in a Nutshell
This is one of the most popular round trips in Norway. It takes you through some of the loveliest scenery in the dramatic fjord lands of the south from Oslo to the charming seaside city of Bergen. You experience the Flåm railway line, the Aurlandsfjord, the Nærøyfjord (the narrowest part of the Sognefjord) and the steep Stalheimskleivane hairpin bends.

Day 1. Oslo - Myrdal - Flam
Early morning departure by train on the scenic Bergen Railway to Myrdal then change for the famous Flam Mountain Railway to the fjord village of Flam. It’s a thrilling ride on the train as it glides through tunnels and open stretches on its way down the wild Flåm valley from mountain to fjord in just 20 km! You have a view of an ever-changing panorama of huge mountains and thundering waterfalls.
Day 2. Flam - Balestrand
Breakfast at the hotel. Afternoon cruise on the Aurlandsfjord and Sognefjord to Kvikne’s Hotel, Balestrand for dinner and overnight.
Day 3. Balestrand - Bergen
You sail from Balestrand to Bergen – a 4 hour cruise on magnificent Sognefjord to the North Sea coastline and south to Bergen.
